Setting up your store's SEO correctly is important. It prepares your page previews when sharing on other social media sites.
To set up your page's Search Engine Optimisation...
- Log into your dashboard
- Go to Settings - Store SEO
- Fill in the following details...
SEO Title -
This is your Store Name as it appears under your profile picture.
Meta Description -
The meta description is often shown as the black text under the title in a search result. For this to work it has to contain the keyword that was searched for and should be less than 150 characters - that's letters numbers and spaces. This is because Google tends to truncate metadata at 160 characters. Keep it brief yet eye-catching and engaging to grip the searcher's attention and encourage them to click on your content.
It looks like this when you search...
Stick to your brand voice and tone, but also keep it conversational.
Include your primary keyword if you can do so naturally, to tick the minimum of requirements for an SEO meta description.
Make sure you convey value to the reader. Why should they look at your page.
Include a call-to-action, i.e. “Learn more here.”
Make sure your descriptions match your content – don’t trick the user into clicking your link.
Something like... Your name, Australian artist, original art and fine art reproductions, realistic wildlife and floral art to hang in your home. learn more here
Meta Keywords -
Inset some comma-separated keywords for better ranking of your store page - if you paint Australian landscapes use your keywords like this...
landscape, outback, seascape, nature, Australian scenes, Australian bush, desert art, home decor, art, reproductions, original art, jigsaw puzzles
Facebook Title -
The title of your business Facebook Page - NOT A LINK - In an ideal world, it should be the same as all your social pages and your BAN page but OK if it isn't. For example, if we had a BAN Page, we'd call it ArtHouseHQ because that's the same as our Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube profiles.
